Andy Hieke

Mr. Hieke is a consummate industry executive, managing game development and publishing for more than twenty years, responsible for over three hundred games worldwide.

In 1981, Mr. Hieke founded Terminal Software, a software publisher for the early 8 bit game computers, Sinclair Spectrum, Commodore VIC20 and C64 and Amstrad 464 and the 16 bit computers, Commodore Amiga, Atari 2600 and the PC.

Hits include: Lazy Jones, Star Commander, Super Skramble, Gridder, Dogfight, Plumb Crazy!

By 1985, Mr. Hieke wanted to focus on development in favor of publishing and founded Binary Design Limited, focusing on software development with over fifty employees in the UK cities of Manchester and Bristol. Developing most games cross platform simultaneously

Hits included: 180, Zub, Shinobi, Double Dragon I, II, Glider Rider, Stunt Driver to name a few.

In 1993, Mr. Hieke joined Microprose Limited in the beautiful Cotswold town of Chipping Sodbury. As Development Director he worked on numerous prestigious chart topping titles including Grand Prix Formula One, Gunship 2000, Pirates and X-Com/UFO Game of the Year.

Spectrum Holobyte acquired Microprose in 1995 and Mr. Hieke was promoted to Development Director at Spectrum’s head office in Alameda, California, overseeing Star Trek, Top Gun and the Falcon brands.

As President of Production, Mr. Hieke co-founded PostLinear Entertainment, a San Francisco based development company that developed numerous casual card games for the Imagination Network and multiplayer online games, Ten-Six and Vigilance for Sega’s Heat.Net.

In 1998, Mr. Hieke co-founded Redmond based Nintendo Software Technology Corporation, the first US based development studio on the Nintendo campus.

Games included: Ridge Racer, Crystalis, Bionic Commando, Pokemon League

From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Hieke joined Atari’s Humongous Entertainment as General Manager and Senior Vice President, enjoying numerous chart topping hits and extensive critical acclaim for Backyard Sports, the number one sports brand for children.

Mid 2006, Mr. Hieke joined casual game company iWin Inc. as General Manager of the Game Studio and Vice President of Publishing. Developing numerous top ten hits, expanding the publishing business and creating a World Class studio and as a result, tripling the company’s revenue.

In November of 2009, Mr. Hieke started a new company focused exclusively on developing and publishing Social Network Games.

Mr. Hieke holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics from the University of Salford, England.
